OPHELIA PEACHES (PEACHIE) NICHOLSON-JONES Feb. 28, 1925 to Sept. 14, 2015 Ophelia Peaches (Peachie) Nicholson-Jones, a long time resident of Riverside, CA, died September 14, 2015 at 90 years old. Known as Peaches, she was born on February 28 1925 in Macon, MS to William (White) Atkinson and Alice Mary Moore-Nicholson who preceded her in death. At the age of 16, she graduated from Old Running Water School in Shuqualak, MS and continued her education at an all-black girls' college at 18. Ophelia Peaches was the first in her family to graduate from college. Peaches was a homemaker, a care provider, always ready and willing to teach God's word; she was a social butterfly. She touched so many lives during her lifetime. Also, preceding her in death were 3 brothers: Obie, Felix and Richard Nicholson, all from Kansas City, MO; 4 sisters: Ruby Brooks-Juliason of Upland, CA; Vera Peoples (William) of Los Angeles, CA; Mary Alice Williams of Kansas City, MO; Willie Belle Dunn (Eugene) of Las Vegas, NV. Also, Ophelia's husband of 39 years, the late Jesse Calvin Jones and daughter Irene (Brenda) Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers: Rufus and Eugene Nicholson of Los Angeles, CA; a sister Lugene Robinson of Upland, CA. Children: Mary Etta Belton (late Herbert James Belton Sr.) of Hutto, TX; Shirley Ann Bowen of Riverside, CA; Jesse Clyde Jones (Sue) of Cave Creek, AZ; Charlene Jackson of Barstow, CA; Michael Anthony Jones (Alicia Garcia) of San Bernardino, CA; Daniel Jones of Highland, CA; Gloria Jean Jones of Milwaukee, WI; and Terri Lynn Jones of Redlands, CA. Also to cherish her memory are God's blessings of twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Services will be on Sat, Sept. 26 at 11am, Lincoln Ave. Church of Christ, 7267 Lincoln Ave, Riverside, CA 92504
