Pamela Ardelle (Willis) Patey Obituary
PAMELA ARDELLE (WILLIS) PATEY went to be with Jesus on May 4, 2014. She was beautiful, both inside and out and loved by everyone she met. She battled valiantly against brain cancer for over a year. Pamela was born June 28, 1947 at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. She married Alan Patey September 3, 1967. She was the first, full, woman professor at Riverside Community College. She taught business and computer classes at RCC from September 1976 until retirement, December 2004. During her teaching years at RCC, she also worked at IBM. Prior to teaching at RCC, she taught for eight years at Sherman Indian High School. Her passion and her gift was to teach others. Pamela was a graduate of Loma Linda University (La Sierra Campus). Pamela loved God, her family and friends. She always put others before herself even during her last days of life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Patey who passed April 13, 2010, her mother Ardelle Willis and her father Paul A. Willis. She will be dearly missed by her surviving loved ones: her daughter Nicolette Blount (son-in-law Christopher Blount), her son Shane Patey (daughter-in-law Mayra Patey), and her four grandchildren - Kent Patey, Audrey Patey, Gwyneth Blount, and Logan Blount. Her infectious smile, warm heart and love for others will be a vacancy that will never be replaced. She will be buried with her husband, Alan, at the Riverside National Cemetery. A tribute fund has been set up in Pamela Patey's name through the American Brain Tumor Association to help find a cure for brain tumors. Donations can be made at www.abta.org or by sending it to American Brain Tumor Association Pamela Patey Tribute Fund 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste. 550 Chicago, IL 60631.
