Pamela Kenworthey Harer Obituary
PAMELA KENWORTHEY HARER was born September 15, 1933 in Bryn Mawr, PA, the second daughter of the Hon. Charles E. Kenworthey and Elizabeth Prichard Kenworthey. She died peacefully at home with hospice care for lymphoma on July 1, 2014. Pamela is survived by her husband of 61 years W Benson Harer Jr MD; daughters Karen Leonard and Cynthia Gibbs; sons C Kenworthey Harer and Benson Christopher Harer; granddaughters Rachel Stoermer and Kendall Mault; grandsons Jared Leonard, Graham Leonard and Ian Leonard, and (to her great joy) great grandson Asa Stoermer and great granddaughter Eva Mault; multiple nieces and nephews, and younger sister. Reed Bilz. Pamela was a lawyer in the San Bernardino/ Riverside area for 20 years. She relocated in 2005 to Seattle, where she loved the cultural atmosphere and the fellow book enthusiasts at University of Washington. Pamela's avocation was the study and collection of early children's books dating from the 17th Century to mid 20th Century. She became internationally recognized for her expertise, which she willingly shared. As she desired, she was cremated and her ashes scattered in Puget Sound. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to UW Special Collections care of Sandra Kroupa.
