PATRICK EDWARD FAGAN, SR., age 71, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his home in Lake Villa, IL, where he was a resident for 11 years. Born on June 20, 1943, in Rhinelander, WI, he earned a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University, and his master's degree from Kansas State University. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he had a lifelong passion for football, both playing and coaching at the high school and college levels in Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas and Georgia. Having moved to Riverside in 1979, Fagan was a physical education teacher and football coach (as well as sometime basketball and track coach) at Rubidoux High School from 1979 until 2004; he also coached football at Arlington High School from 1984-1987. He was preceded in death in 2006 by his wife, Linda (Sangbusch). He is survived by his son Patrick Fagan, Jr. (Tabatha) of Cincinnati; daughter Catherine (Bill) Wafford of Naperville, IL; and four granddaughters, as well as wife Nadine Dzick of Lake Villa, IL; Mike (Ginger) Dzick; Heather Dzick and Sarah Shimko; and three step-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Dennis (Gayle) Fagan of Gilbert, AZ and sister Kathryn (Tom) Jeffery of Naperville, IL. An avid music lover and sports car enthusiast with an easy, quirky sense of humor, he had an enormous impact on so many of the students, athletes and coaches whose lives he touched.
