PEGGY MARIE HAMILTON June 29, 1931- November 26, 2013 Peggy Marie Hamilton, age 82, went peacefully home to our Lord on Tuesday, November 26. Peggy was surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren at the time of her passing. Peggy was born on June 29, 1931 in Rimlap, Alabama. From 1950 to 1953 she served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was awarded a Purple Heart. A few years later she moved to Amboy, California with her then husband, Jodie Murphy, and children. Upon leaving Amboy the family relocated to Twenty Nine Palms where they ran Murphys' Taxi Service, as well as Murphys' Sand Trap Restaurant and Tavern. Later in life Peggy moved to the San Jacinto Valley where she became very active with VFW Post 2266, becoming bar and facilities manager and leading the Ladies Auxiliary efforts. It was here she and her family shared many treasured memories and that she met the love of her life, Post Commander Frankie Hamilton. After several years Peggy and her husband Frankie moved to Twenty Nine Palms where they shared life until her passing. Peggy enjoyed caring for her pets, which she viewed as nothing less than children, visiting with family and the hours spent on the phone conversing with her daughters. Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Frankie Hamilton Jr., daughter Annalesia and son-in-law Russell Stewart, daughter Monet and son-in-law Wolfgang Lee, daughter Margo Murphy, stepson Franklin and daughter-in-law Chach Hamilton, stepson Michael Hamilton; as well as 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren . A celebration of her life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 7 at the Living Waters Church in San Jacinto.
