PEGGY SPICER TRIPP OCTOBER 21, 1951- AUGUST 27, 2016 Peggy, the first child of Bob and Betty Spicer, was born in Berkeley, CA. Her favorite early childhood memories were growing up in Hawaii and playing on the sands of Waikiki Beach. Her father was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, stationed near Pearl Harbor. Peggy was destined for the field of education, with her mother and grandmother being elementary school teachers, and her father's second career as a business manager with the Anaheim Unified School District. Peggy taught grades 4 through 6 for 37 years in Tustin and Temecula. She was wildly respected in the field of education, with numerous awards and accolades ,including Teacher of the Year awards from the Temecula Valley Unified School District, and the County of Riverside in 1992. That same year she was also named Grand Marshall of the City of Temecula's annual Christmas parade. With her enthusiastic, outgoing personality she would brighten up a room with just her sheer presence. She enjoyed friendships with literally hundreds of friends from around the country. Her final words to us would be: Each day you awake, realize it's God's blessing and joy for us and do not allow any individual or life's circumstances take away our joy." She is survived by her mother, Betty Spicer; son Steven Richard Tripp; adopted daughter Lorie Lippert; sister Jane Spicer Wilson; brother Thomas Richard Spicer, and her husband of 40 years, Richard Gordon Tripp. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, with Pastor Jack Hibbs officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy's name to the Big Brothers-Big Sisters Organization of Orange County, or the .
