Philip "Roy" Denham Jr. Obituary
Philip "Roy" Denham, Jr. passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Saturday, August 5, 2017 with his family at his side. He was 93 years old. Phil is survived by his wife, Anne, daughters Lisa MacDougall (Craig) and Martha Denham (Yuri), and grandson Kevin MacDougall (Leslie). He leaves behind a sister, Dorothea Murray, and many nieces and nephews. Phil enjoyed a wonderful life. He was born in 1923 on a farm in Byers, Colorado, the only boy out of four children. After high school, Phil earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During World War II, he entered the Navy, where he became a skilled radio electrician. After the war, he earned a Master's Degree in Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While living in Boulder, he attended a Presbyterian Church where he met his wife. Phil and Anne were married for 67 years. Phil spent most of his career as a Professor of Math and Mechanical Drawing at Riverside City College. Phil was passionate about flying and was a long time member of the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. at Flabob Airport in Riverside.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 on August 14, 2017 at Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 7200 Magnolia Ave. Riverside, CA 92504. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magnolia Presbyterian Church.
