PHYLLIS JUNE WINSTEAD, 78, longtime Corona resident, passed away from cancer at home with her family on Oct. 19, 2015. She was born in Lake Elsinore, CA. on Oct. 23, 1936 to Nick and Margaret Bruno. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, David Windstead; her daughter Margaret Michelle Winstead; her son David (Connie) Winstead Jr.; her beloved sister and best friend Connie (Richard) Newton; and one grandson, Cody Winstead, all of Corona, brother Bill (Mary) Bruno of Riverside and 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Mimi Triola and brother, John Bruno, both who also succumbed to cancer. She grew up on the family ranch in Elsinore, moving to Corona as a young teenager where she graduated from Corona High and then attended Riverside City College. Phyllis was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, business owner (Breadboard Deli), manicurist, for nearly 60 years at the Hair and Nail Shop in Corona, child care provider, clerk at the former Harris' Company of Riverside, and caterer. She was a loyal, giving friend to many. Phyllis loved to cook for others and host parties (even when she was ill), and worked diligently maintaining a beautiful home and garden. Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10:30am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Corona, followed immediately by burial at Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside, and a reception following. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to City of Hope Duarte, CA where Phyllis was a patient for over 14 years or Corona Community Hospice who assisted in her care, or a . Thomas Miller Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
