Ralph Dotson Obituary
RALPH DOTSON Born June 9, 1916 in Shawnee, OK, passed away on May 25, 2014 just short of age 98. He was the second oldest of six boys. Was married to his one and only Dorothy for 32 years, she passed away in 1973. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps from 1940 until 1945. He moved to California in 1950 and worked for Douglas Aircraft as a Sheet Metal Worker and retired in 1979. Ralph enjoyed traveling in the motor home with his brother Leonard and his sister-in-law Hazel. His interests were fishing and watching Dodger baseball. Ralph moved to Hemet in 1991 and joined Elks Lodge #1740. He became active and was known as "Mr. Coffee." He made coffee for all functions. He became a Greeter and volunteered to help at Bingo. He was Elk of the Year 2003-2004. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Hazel Dotson of Hemet; nephew, James Dotson of Abilene, TX; niece Starla of Abilene, TX; and niece, Patricia Rangel of Chico, CA. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1501 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92543. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the same address. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elks Lodge #1740 General Fund.
