Ralph H. Ellsworth Obituary
RALPH H. ELLSWORTH Born April 27, 1926 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, found his peace on April 2, 2013. He moved with his family to California in 1927. At eight years of age he started selling Coca Cola at Covina Citrus. He was drafted into the Army at age 18 serving in Okinawa and the Phillippines with the 152nd Airborn Antiaircraft Battalion, 11th Airborn Division until his honorable discharge in 1946. He moved back to Covina and began working with Betz Packing Co. He was sent to Fillmore, California where he met and married Bonnie L. Fernandez on June 11, 1949. They started their life together moving to various places in California with Betz Packing Co., finally settling in the Redlands area where Ralph worked at Southern Citrus until 1967. At that time they were moved to Exeter, California where Ralph eventually went to work for Sunkist Growers, Inc. From there they moved to Tempe, AZ in 1971 where he left Sunkist and went to work at Mesa Citrus. When their first grandchild was expected in 1974 Ralph and Bonnie moved back to California where they settled in Riverside. Ralph was employed as General Manager by Blue Banner Co. in Riverside for nearly 25 years until retirement in 1999. Ralph is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie; son Robert Ellsworth (Marty) of Cherry Valley; daughter Debbie Cardenas of Riverside; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Stacey, Amanda, and Jose; 3 great grandchildren Nixon, Keegan, and Addison. He is also survived by 2 sisters Billie Allen and Dorothy Wheeler of Covina and several nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Annie Ellsworth and sister Wauthena Bruce Smith. Special thanks to Arlington Commons and Companion Hospice. Services will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Riverside on Saturday, April 6, 2013 with the Rosary Recitation at 10am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30am.
