RAYMOND FORBES WARNER, JR. Age 92, of Riverside, California, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2016 surrounded by family. Born in Natrona Heights, PA to Raymond and Ruby Warner, February 12, 1924, he lived the first part of his life in the Pittsburgh area before moving to Southern California. Ray is survived by his wife Naomi of 33 years; children Barbara Hart, David Warner, Raymond Warner III, Amy Mora, Robin Janicki, Paul Warner, and grandchildren Matthew Newman, David Warner Jr., Alina Warner, Emily Warner, Raymond Warner IV, Samuel Warner and Peter Warner. A true member of the Greatest Generation, Ray grew up during the Great Depression where he learned frugality and service to others. He was a dedicated Boy Scout, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14. Following high school, he volunteered to serve in the Army Air Corps during WWII, ultimately flying 49 missions in the South Pacific as a Navigator/Bombardier on a B-25 bomber. He was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant. Following the war, Ray took advantage of the G.I. Bill, and studied Metallurgical Engineering at Carnegie Tech. He worked his entire career in manufacturing management, which enabled him to provide a very nice living for his family, as well as take care of all of his financial needs throughout his life. A loving father, Ray enjoyed family barbeques and gatherings. Being with his children and grandchildren was always a source of joy. In retirement, he could be found volunteering in various capacities, whether organizing a neighborhood street clean up, or bell ringing for the Salvation Army. Ray will be laid to rest at 2:15 p.m. July 21, 2016 with full military honors at the Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area B, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA.
