Raymond E. Spiess Obituary
RAYMOND E. SPIESS Age 90, beloved father to Marianne, Evelyn, Raymond Jr, John and James; peacefully passed away at his home in Sherman Oaks, Ca. on Nov 18, 2013. Raymond was born on Nov. 7, 1923 in Corona, Ca. Raymond was a Corona High School 1943 Alumni and a retired Military Veteran for 20 years of service. He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam and retired SFC E7, as a Special Forces Green Beret having served with the 5th Special Forces Group. After retirement from the Military, he worked for the Department of Corrections and completed his AA degree and promoted to Parole Agent. He was heavily involved in the Las Vegas Special Forces Chapter and also helped start up the Military Museum there, with special attention to the Korean War display area, along with the Special Forces section of the museum. He loved his career in the military and was very proud of his "Service to his Country". Raymond is survived by his children, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his brother Walter Spiess. A viewing will be held on Nov 22, 2013 at the Thomas Miller Mortuary 11am - 1pm. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, Nov 23, 2013 at 11am at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery, 1125 Rimpau Ave Corona, CA. He will be laid to rest alongside his loving wife Minerva P Spiess who was laid to rest there on Sept. 28, 2004. He was preceded in death by Marianne C. Andrade, his daughter.
