Raymond Russell (Ray) Alexander Obituary
RAYMOND (RAY) RUSSELL ALEXANDER September 20, 1951 - August 16, 2013 Writer and artist, Raymond (Ray) Russell Alexander, left this world to continue his journey late Friday night due to natural causes. He leaves behind his wife Lisa; children Aaron, Megan, and Jenna and their spouses; four beautiful grandchildren; brothers Steve, Tom and Scott, and a number of very special lifelong friends from all corners of the country. Raymond was born in Penn Yan, NY but spent most of his life in Riverside, CA where he arrived on his Harley Sportster in 1972 and worked as a commercial printer and technical writer. The terrifically mustachioed black-belt was an exacting photographer, published writer, accomplished slide guitarist, and motorcycle travel enthusiast. He was a founding member of a group of adventuresome guys known as the River City Riders, who's motto he penned, "No rules. Just rides." As a photographer and blog writer, Ray enjoyed documenting early morning vistas, his growing family, and classic vehicles with clean lines. His thoughtfulness, generosity, and particular brand of humor will be sorely missed. A Remembrance will be held Friday evening, August 23rd at 5:30 p.m. at the California Citrus State Historic Park at 9400 Dufferin Ave., Riverside, CA (at Van Buren). If you would like to share in a couple of Ray's passions, any size donation can be made to the Friends of Mount Rubidoux by sending a check payable to "Friends of Mt. Rubidoux" at P.O. Box 206, Riverside, CA 92502 (please let them know that it's in memory of Ray) or to the National Parks Association at the donation area at http://www.nrpa.org/. Until we meet again, "that's all I have to report."
