1925 - 2017 Obituary Condolences

Age 91, died January 25, 2017 in Yorba Linda, California. Born December 12, 1925 in Redford, Michigan, to Richard and Evelyn (Lozo) George, he grew up attending schools in Detroit, Mich., before enlisting in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Upon returning from active duty, he courted the love of his life, B. Evelyn Bowman & they married January 17, 1948.
Richard was recalled into the Air Force to serve during the Korean War & the Air Force became his career for 27 years. He served as a Master Navigator, Radar Bombardier & Director of Intelligence, & retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1970.
Richard continued to further his education, graduating from Chapman University in 1970, & he began a second career as owner of Artech Signs, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, & oil painting.
Richard was pre-deceased by his wife, parents, brother Lloyd George, and sister Doris Tances. He leaves behind 4 children: Linda (Wayne) Barber, Deborah (John) Barber, Richard K. (Deborah) George and David (Elizabeth) George; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Leroux and Donna Moore, in addition to numerous nieces & nephews.
A service will be held at 10:00am on February 17, 2017 at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 7005 Brockton Ave, Riverside. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
