Richard William Amaral Obituary
RICHARD WILLIAM AMARAL died March 1, 2016, suddenly and at home, in Yucaipa, CA. Rick was the only child of Robert and Jacquie Amaral, born Feb. 29, 1952 at St. Bernardine's in San Bernardino. A life-long resident of the area, he attended local schools, including San Gorgonio High School. Rick landed his first job at the age of twelve, delivering The Sun, on his bike, up Quail Canyon each morning before school. As an adult, Rick worked construction as a skilled lather, along side his father, Bob. He also sold cars and motorcycles, using his immeasurable charm and good looks, as well as his great knowledge of automobiles, especially fast and/or vintage. He even owned a few classics himself, including a '41 Cadillac, a '55 Chevy Nomad, and a fully-customized, '28 Model T with a 440 Hemi engine. Rick was a life-long, hard-core rock and roll fan. He went to a zillion concerts. He idolized Black Sabbath and Van Halen. His real calling was socializing. He had many teen-to-grave friends, from a variety of age groups, and backgrounds. He had a fun, out-going manner and enjoyed telling and retelling his mostly true stories. Rick was married for 18 years to June (Cassady). Rick was preceded in death by his father, Bob. He is survived by his mother, Jacquie Amaral of Yucaipa; a close cousin Gary Amaral, of Reno, NV; an old, feral cat "The Baby", that lived under his house, and that he fed and doted on for seven years, and of course, his loyal following of heart-broken friends. There will be no service held. Please send condolences to www.pe.com/obits
