ROBERT ("BOB") ALAN GWARTNEY December 22, 1927-March 22, 2014 Bob was born in Portland, OR, grew up in Los Angeles, raised his family in Norwalk and Fullerton, and spent the last two decades in Riverside and Corona. He is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Marilyn (Sanborn) Gwartney; son Frederick Gwartney (Joyce); daughters Patricia Gwartney (George), Janet Farrington (Bondie), and Laurine Rich (Steve); 13 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Ted Gwartney (Toni); sister Lois Gwartney Moravec; brother-in-law Robert Sanborn (Paula); and sister-in-law Donna (Bill) Armbruster. He worked as an auditor, accountant and income tax expert, was involved with First Congregational Church of Los Angeles and its Cedar Lake Camp for 75 years, and taught his children to love camping, hiking and singing goofy songs. A memorial service, held on March 25, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Corona, concluded with three rounds of "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt." His ashes will be scattered on his 65th wedding anniversary at his favorite overlook in the San Bernardino Mountains.
