ROBERT ARTHUR MONTANO Robert Arthur Montano was born November 22, 1927 and departed this world December 16, 2015 in the loving presence of his family. Montano served 4 years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Salisbury Sound; being drafted in World War II for service in the Pacific and called back up for the Korean conflict, earning 5 medals including a distinguished purple heart. Upon graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in electrical engineering, he met his bride of 54 years, a relationship that produced 5 wonderful children. His professional career spanned 38 years during which time his work involved consulting engineering in power generation and distribution, ultimately serving in the City of Riverside Public Utilities as Chief Engineer and Power Resource Manager. He is survived by his wife Christine Montano; children Mary Ann Denson (Randy), Cindy Montano (William Matlock II), Mark Montano, Michelle Montano-Kratel (Axel); and grandchildren, Nathan Denson, William Matlock, III, and Lucas and Logan Kratel. He was preceded in death by his son Robert A. Montano and 7 brothers and sisters. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd at 1:00 pm at St. Andrews Newman Center, 105 West Big Spring Road, Riverside CA 92507. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Andrews Newman Center.
