MR. ROBERT E. "BOB" LANGSTON died peacefully in the home of his brother-in-law, Edward Bertolini on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 in Fort Madison, Iowa, at the age of 84. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Colleen Langston; son, Randy Langston; daughter, Rosi Langston; granddaughter, Lauren Langston and brother, Virgil Langston. Robert was born on June 8, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Virgil I. and Anna H. Langston. He attended Tulsa University. He moved to California in 1957 to bring his parents and connect with his brother and sister. He met Colleen there soon after at Santa Monica First Christian Church. They married on Dec. 5, 1959. He raised his family in Placentia, California where they were also dedicated members of the First Christian Church in Fullerton. They also lived in Tuscon, AZ for many years and finally landed in Beaumont, CA for the rest of his life. He was a devout Disciples of Christ member, a devoted husband and father, a passionate volunteer, and a member of the Masonic Organization and Scottish Rite in Fullerton. The last 24 years of his life he volunteered at such organizations as Spring Training for major league baseball in Tucson, an usher for the University of Arizona football games, a tour guide at both Pima Air Museum and the Desert Museum of Tucson, the San Gorgonio Christian Thrift store in Beaumont, and Carol's Kitchen in Beaumont, Banning and Cabazon where he was known as "Mr. Donut." A Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11 at the First Christian Church, Hemet with a reception to follow. Reverand Gary Fowler will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robert's life. A private interment was held at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, CA.
