Dr. Robert (Bob) Fisk Obituary
DR. ROBERT (BOB) FISK Dr. Robert (Bob) Fisk, long-time resident of Hemet, CA, passed away December 14, 2013, after an extended battle with cancer. He was 68. Bob received his medical training as a podiatrist in Cleveland, Ohio, in the early 70s and established a medical practice in Los Angeles. In the mid-80s, he moved to Hemet where he built and opened his clinic. Bob was well known as a compassionate physician who cared for anyone who needed his medical help, regardless of their ability to pay. As Bob's patients and friends will attest, he did not practice medicine with the goal of making the expected earnings, but rather to help people and make their lives better. Bob achieved that goal, both in his professional life as a doctor, as well as in his private life. The people who knew and loved Bob miss him deeply. His closest old friend of 40 years summed up Bob's philosophy as being "grateful for life." Although not a religious man, he was heard on many occasions, such as watching a beautiful sunset, saying, "Thank you, Lord!" Bob is survived by his son, Jeff; sister, Sue, both living on the east coast, and Lam, his companion of 15 years, living in Hemet. The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the exceptional staff in the ICU at Loma Linda Murietta Hospital. They went beyond the call of duty in their tenacity to support Bob in his final hours, and their compassion toward Bob's loved ones brought more comfort than they can know. There will be no public services. Bob's ashes will be scattered on his favorite mountain top in Idyllwild. Should you wish to honor Bob's memory, take the time to share his philosophy: be grateful for life.
