ROBERT LEE RUMBARGER With his loving wife, Irma, at his side, Robert (Bob) Rumbarger, 82, passed away in Fullerton, CA on February 20, 2013. Bob will be remembered as a hardworking, family man having resided in Diamond Bar, CA. for the past 29 years. Born January 15, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas, he had greatly enjoyed motorcycle desert racing over the years, having raced the 'Barstow to Vegas' 5 times. He also enjoyed taking trips in his motorhome, forever 'tinkering' with his cars and his special buddie, his dog Duke. After graduating from Riverside Poly High School in 1950, he served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, as Master Sergeant in the United States Army, E Company 224 Infantry Division. Upon returning from the war, he attended Riverside City College. For many years he worked as an auto mechanic in Riverside for B & J Garage, Ed Martin Garage, as well as Porter's Garage. He worked as production manager for Premier Helmets and owned his own business Performance Plus Services. Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Irma Rumbarger; children Tammy Pavone, Karen Rumbarger-Byrd, Teresa Mohn, Bradley and Randall Rumbarger; sons-in-law Brian Byrd and Jeff Pavone; grandchildren Kristopher Mohn, Zachery and Mandee Stamat, Eli Rumbarger, Ethan Rumbarger and his wife Hilary, Alison Rumbarger, Ashton Rumbarger Havard; and great grand-daughter Kaylee Rumbarger Lares. He is also survived by his sister Francis Grant and brother and sisters-in-law Tom and Vikki Sanchez, Mary Corbello, John and Joyce Martin. He was preceded by his parents, brother Donald, sister Mary and brothers-in-law Robert Martin and Glenn Corbello. A memorial service with military honors will be held Monday, March 11 at 2:30 at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA.
