ROBERT M. TODD, JR. Robert Madison Todd, Jr. (known to most as "Todd") passed away on Dec. 5 from lung disease. He was born Sept. 16, 1930 in Anaheim to Robert M. Todd and Nellie O. (Wynne) Todd. He grew up in southern California and graduated from Trona High School in 1948. Todd joined the Marine Corps after high school, deploying to Korea in Aug. 1950. He served as a Radar Controller and Technical Sergeant in the Marine All Weather Fighter Squadron 542 during the Korean War. Todd flew over 60 missions during the war, many in combat. Todd always felt great pride in his service as a Marine. He married his high school sweetheart Lillian Fair in Oct. 1951, and their son Jeffrey was born in 1953. After the war, Todd began his 38-year career with Bourns Electronics in Riverside, ultimately holding many positions from Technician to Vice President. After Todd's retirement in 1990, he and Lillian settled in Paradise, near Bishop; they moved back to Riverside in 2014. Todd is survived by his beloved wife Lillian, brother-in-law Edward Fair (Viola), sisters-in-law Helen Sompayrac and Dorothy Comber, his nieces and nephews and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Virginia and wonderful son, Jeff. Jeff was a ski instructor who lived in Mammoth Lakes and created the Mighty Mites youth ski program. Todd was a devoted husband and father, and the family is comforted knowing that Todd and Jeff are together once again.
