ROBERT MORRIS PADIA 9/19/1950 9/11/2014 Bob passed away on September 11, 2014, in Riverside, CA. A fifth generation Californian born in Whittier, the first child of Morris Junior and Mary Gertrude Atkins Padia. He received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Occidental College in Los Angeles and his Juris Doctorate from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California Berkeley in 1975. He began his law career as a Riverside County Deputy District Attorney, and later joined Reid & Hellyer as a business litigator. Bob went to Bell Orrock & Watase in 1992 where he focused on defending civil rights actions. He retired as a Riverside County Superior Court Commissioner in 2011. Bob married Cheryl Lois Wine and raised their children, Lauren Wine and Evan Morris in Riverside. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Morris; and is survived by his mother, Mary, who resides in Oakland; his daughter, Lauren Wine Padia Baumgardner of Beaverton, Oregon; his son, Evan Morris Padia of San Dimas; his brother Thomas Allen Padia of Oakland; and his sister Patricia Alice Watters of Sacramento. Bob is remembered for his passion for family, baseball, cooking, and wine collecting. He taught wine and food classes at the U.C.R. Extension and judged wine competitions at the International Orange Show. Bob led the Prime Vintage Wine Auction for the American Heart Association. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul's Towers, Oakland, on October 25, 2014.
