ROBERT V. WALKER Robert Walker, son of Norman and Agnes Walker, was born on the family ranch home in Nuevo, CA on June 27, 1920, and joined his beloved wife Marcheta in Heavenly bliss December 16, 2013. After graduating from Perris HS in 1938, he attended Cal Poly for two years, returning home to help on the farm during the war. Bob farmed with his dad and brother for 35 yrs. in Nuevo. They were respected farmers and ranchers, and active in the community. He married the love of his life, Marcheta Thomas in 1942 and they were partners in love and life for nearly 70 yrs. He was a charter member of the Riverside County Farm Bureau, Nuview Volunteer Fire Dept, Nuevo-Lakeview Grange, and founded the Nuview Ranchers 4-H club in 1952. Bob was a member of the First Congregational Church in Perris since 1952, and member and supporter of the Perris Valley Museum. When Bob and Marcheta weren't busy farming, they loved to travel and participate in fun activities with family and friends. Jeep trips, ATV camping, boating and snowmobile outings were favorites, especially when shared with grandchildren. Bob loved to garden, and share the bounty with neighbors. A rewarding hobby was his wood working, making 21 cedar chests and dozens of unique stools, plant stands and tote boxes. After farming in the Perris Valley, and raising four children, they moved to Bonanza, Oregon in the 1960's. They loved the valley, growing hay, grain, potatoes, and a prolific garden. Bob was affectionately known as "Pappy", and was often seen driving around the valley and fields with his dog as co-pilot. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marcheta, and son Dick. Survived by daughters Marie (Bob) Spradlin of Homeland, Sharon Johnson of Fredericksburg, TX, and Sandy (Dave) Coats of Homeland; sister Mary Ann (Gary) Raymond of Nuevo; daughter-in-law Sherry Walker of Bonanza, OR; sister-in-law Moneca Wardel of Santa Maria; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
