Robert Vincent Tweeten Obituary
ROBERT VINCENT TWEETEN Robert Vincent Tweeten passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2013, in his mountain home in Big Bear Lake, CA. Bob was born on March 28, 1944 in Rugby, North Dakota and lived on the family farm near Rolette, ND with parents, Allegra and Vincent Tweten and three sisters. In 1954, the family moved to Tucson, AZ and then to Riverside, CA in 1956. He graduated from Ramona HS in 1962 and immediately joined the Navy. While in the Navy, he served on a ship in the Caribbean ready to go to battle during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After the Navy, Bob worked at Rohr Aircraft and later became an entrepreneur by opening his own cabinet and trailer shops. These endeavors eventually started his long career as a contractor/superintendent managing complex construction projects of commercial buildings, such as university sites, professional medical buildings, strip malls, and restaurants. After he retired, Bob moved to his cabin in the resort town of Big Bear Lake where he pursued his passions of gardening, researching ancestry, and photography. He is survived by sisters Eloise Mahru, Linda Field, and Melody Bloch, their husbands, and ten nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 2882 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506 on Saturday, October 12 at 2PM.
