1943 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
RODNEY EDWARD NICHOLSON Age 72, of Riverside, California, died peacefully in his sleep at home amongst his family on November 11, 2015. He is survived by his wife Deborah Nicholson; his four children Douglas Nicholson, Jennifer Platt (Kyle), Tobias Nicholson (Anna), Tanya Juarez (Joseph); and his brothers Randy Nicholson (Theresa & Family) and Jimmy Nicholson (son Parker). Rodney was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren Genevieve "Evie" Platt (7), Cooper Platt (4), Cody Juarez (7) and Quaid Juarez (3). His fifth grandchild is due in the summer of 2016. Rodney was born May 21st, 1943 in Winchester, MA. His family moved to Rubidoux, California where Rodney graduated from Rubidoux High School, class of 1961. During high school Rodney acted as the lead in the school production of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Samuel N. Moore (DD-747), where he served during the Vietnam War and earned the Rank of Boiler Technician 3rd class. A longtime resident of Riverside, Rodney and his brother Dick operated Unique Muntz Stereo Pack in the Magnolia Center. Rodney then worked as an injection molding specialist with the Toro Corporation, and later with MacFam Inc. He loved his family, golf, fishing, the New England Patriots, and cooking. He was a friend to everyone, and a smile was always in style on his face. Rodney will be missed, and he will be remembered. Memorial Service to be held on Friday, December 4th, 2015 at 11:15 am at the Riverside National Cemetery.
