RONALD JOSEPH VLADOVICH 11/18/1959 12/28/2013 Ronald (Ronny) Joseph Vladovich, a longtime resident of Riverside, passed away unexpectedly from complications of surgery at Riverside Community Hospital on December 28, 2013. Ronny was born in Baden, PA, November 18, 1959 and moved with his family at an early age to Riverside. He attended Liberty Elementary, Chemawa MS, and Arlington High School, graduating college with an AA degree from RCC. Ron was a champion weightlifter winning various national and international championships, breaking numerous records in his weight class from 1975-1982. Had the Olympics of 1980 not been cancelled, he was poised to qualify for the US National Team. After Ron retired from competitive weightlifting, he worked for Stater Bros markets and then would become employed by the Riverside Unified School District where he was employed as a supervisor in maintenance and operations for 29+ years. Ron spent the last 17 years working at his favorite school, Sunshine Early Childhood Center for special education. Ron was very dedicated to his school and loved all the staff and the students. Ron was preceded in death by his loving mother, Jacqueline Marie Vladovich, and is survived by his father, Walter R. Vladovich; brother, Rick A. Vladovich (fiancée, Lisa) of Murrieta; his Aunt Mary Helen and Uncle Joe Wesolowski of Riverside; Uncle Anthony J. Vladovich of Aliquippa, PA and many cousins, family and friends and he will be dearly missed. In honor of Ron, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to two causes very close to Ron's heart: Special Olympics 1133 19th Street NW Washington, DC 20036 or The ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301. The Memorial/Viewing will be held at Arlington Mortuary, 9645 Magnolia Ave, Riverside CA between the hours of 4-8 pm on Friday, January 10, 2014. Services for Ron will be held the following morning at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 3774 Jackson St, Riverside, January 11th with a 10 am mass, followed by interment at Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside.
