Rosalva B. Palacios Obituary
ROSALVA B. PALACIOS Rosalva entered eternal life on January 6, 2013, at the age of 95. She was born to Raymundo and Carlota Burgueno on September 16, 1917, in Zavala, Sinaloa, Mexico, and immigrated to the US at the age of 30. She married Procopio S. Palacios, and they had eight children combined. She lived in San Diego, Paramount, and Beaumont, CA. She resided in Hemet for the last 20 years. Rosalva was a homemaker for nearly 70 years. She prepared delicious home-cooked meals and freshly handmade flour tortillas. Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting. She faithfully sent birthday cards to her extended family and friends, which included Selma Williams, her pen pal of 52 years. She loved to travel with her daughter Carlota, especially by cruise ship and motor home. She was a member of the United Foursquare Women and Blue Star Mothers. She was a breast cancer survivor of ten years. "Mama Chava" was known for her kindness, hospitality, generosity, and unconditional love. God blessed her with a long and happy life, as well as a short, peaceful passing while surrounded by her loved ones. Rosalva was preceded by her husband Procopio, sisters Dora, Consuelo, and Delia, brother Oscar, and daughter Rebecca. She is survived by her sons, Oscar Palacios, Ezekiel Palacios, and Procopio Palacios, Jr.; her daughters, Margaret Cruz, Rosa Christopherson, Ruth Haas, and Carlota Mueller; sister, Olga Guerena; niece, Yolanda Veytia; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a kind and generous son-in-law in Jerome R. Mueller, M.D. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 11am at Grace Chapel Foursquare Church, 362 N. Buena Vista St., Hemet, CA. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Ave., Beaumont, CA.
