Roslyn Marie Bock Obituary
Roslyn Marie Bock of Highland, CA, passed away March 26, 2017, in her home after a short but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Born July 8, 1936, in San Francisco, CA, Roslyn graduated from Conaty Catholic Girls High School in Los Angeles, CA, and lived the balance of her life in Southern California. Roslyn was a strong, independent woman who worked as an office manager for almost 40 years. She retired in December 2016 after spending the last 16 years working with world-renowned woodworker Sam Maloof in Alta Loma, CA. While working with Sam, Ros met many interesting people, once exchanging pictures of grandchildren with former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Her natural curiosity and concern for others made for many lifelong bonds with her co-workers, clients and numerous friends.
Always ready for an adventure, Ros traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad, creating memories with several close companions. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends; spending time with them was truly her passion.
Preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lena Neiden, granddaughter Briana Gradillas and several adored aunts and uncles, Roslyn is survived by children Elaine (Eric) Tipton of Runnings Springs, Patty (Ted) Hopkins of Vacaville, Robert (Tracy) Bock of Running Springs and Susie (Bob) Gradillas of Lake Arrowhead. She also leaves behind grandchildren Kory, Lucas, Kelly, Lauren, Greg, Claire, Kevin, Austin, David and Alex and 11 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on April 28, 2017, at The Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community Church, 115 W. Olive St., Redlands, followed by a catered luncheon from 11am-1pm at the church hall. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Autism Research Institute, 4182 Adams Ave., San Diego, Ca. 92116 (www.autism.com) in support of great-grand- daughter Summer.
