Roy Thomas Breyer Obituary
ROY THOMAS BREYER was born August 4, 1932 to John and Ruth Breyer and passed away on July 31, 2014. He and his brother John were raised in San Bernardino, CA. Roy attended St. Bernardine's High School, where he and his friends formed the "Big Six," a group who remained lifelong friends. At the age of 21, he married Marty Morrison and together they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He was an avid golfer who achieved two holes-in-one. Roy made his home and raised his family in Grand Terrace, and was a successful business owner in Riverside. As a member of the Grand Terrace Lions Club, he was honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow. He resided in Banning for the last 7 years. Roy and his wife, Marty were blessed with three loving daughters and wonderful sons-in-law: Becky and Chuck Hiroto, Shauna and Bob Pappert, and Erin and Dan Johnson. His eight grandchildren, Kellen and Brett Hiroto, Jordan Rabago, Taylor, Ryan, and Blake Coghill, Hannah and Ross Johnson, brought him immeasurable joy. His three great grandchildren, Yamikani and Jaden Hiroto, and Lorelei Coghill greatly enriched his later years. Family and friends will always remember him as the perfect host of annual New Year's Day football game parties. Most importantly, Roy was a man of love and acceptance, and all who met him enjoyed his sense of humor and friendly demeanor. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, August 7th at 10:30 am at Beaumont Presbyterian Church (702 Euclid Ave) where Roy served as a deacon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to African Bible College, attn. Bright Vision Orphan Care, P.O. #103, Clinton, MS 39060, or the American Cancer Society.
