RUBEN NASH MARTINEZ, born 10/25/1951, passed peacefully, at the VA Loma Linda Community Living Center, on January 25, 2016 at the age of 64 from kidney failure. Nash was born in Greely, Colorado, and lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming until the age of 14. Nash was a native of California since 1965, and resided in Yucaipa, CA prior to his death. He attended Johnson Jr. High (Cheyenne, WY) and Central Junior High, and John W. North High. Graduated high school in 1970, and served in the United States Army for two years, 1971 to 1973. He attended Chaffey College, and Cal State Pomona, then married. He was a good cook, athlete and wonderful musician. He performed at the Art Affair Festivals in Laguna Beach. His music was gentle to the soul. Nash was married for 27 years, and had three beautiful children, Nash Jr., Esther, and Szabo, all of whom he was very proud of. Nash was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and a caring son and brother with a good sense of humor. Nash was preceded in death by dad, Ruben J. Martinez (Denver, CO); stepmother Ramona Martinez (Denver, CO); stepfather, Robert Apodaca, Jr. (Cheyenne, WY) and sisters, Debra Apodaca (Cheyenne, WY), Veronica Martinez (Denver, CO) and Diana Apodaca (Cheyenne, WY). Surviving relatives are mother, Lucy G. Bargas (Yucaipa, CA); sisters, Laura S. Zaragoza (Reuben) (Calimesa, CA); Tina Romo (Riverside, CA); Andrea Noll (Chuck) (Colorado Springs, CO); Lynne Garcia (Fred) (Denver, CO); Celia Garcia (Denver, CO), Maria Perez (Denver, CO), Jessica Maestas Martinez (Denver, CO) and brother, Vincent Martinez (Denver, CO). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Viewing Services will be held on February 9, 2016 from 5pm-9pm with Funeral Services on February 10, 2016, both at Green Acres Memorial Park and Mortuary at 10am. Burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:30pm.

Heartfelt condolences to the family from Joey and Ruby Gregorio, Cheyenne, WY. Nash was part of our special childhood and youth memories. We were very happy to have the opportunity to see him and visit with him a couple years ago here in Cheyenne. We'll see you again Nash!
