Sabrina (Chase) Rutkoff Obituary
Devoted wife, mother, daughter and teacher, 38, of Menifee, passed away on February 8, 2018 at Kaiser Riverside Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born February 12, 1979 in San Diego, CA, Sabrina graduated from Poway High School, class of 1997. She went on to earn her Liberal Arts degree in from San Diego State University in 2001, and a Masters Degree in Education from National University. In 2005, Sabrina embarked on her teaching career at Paloma Valley High School, where she taught English and worked as a Literacy Coach until 2009 when she transferred to Heritage High School. At Heritage, she continued to teach English and worked as ELD chair. Her work as a teacher, as well as, her nurturing and caring personality made her classroom a second home for many students. Most recently, she began teaching 2nd grade at Mesa View Elementary School to pursue using her credential in primary education, to mold young minds and in order to be closer to her two children. She was beyond excited to be given the opportunity to work at Mesa View, and used her passion for learning and loving nature to create a safe haven for her 2nd graders to learn and grow.
On October 11th 2002 Sabrina married her sweetheart, Jared Rutkoff. Then, on May 9, 2006 they excitedly welcomed their first child, Coleman. On Feb 14, 2008, their family grew once more as they welcomed their loving daughter, Cameryn. In her spare time, Sabrina passionately supported both Cole and Cameryn's travel ball teams and displayed her strong leadership skills as team manager. As a family, they enjoyed camping in their RV with both family and friends, going to baseball games, and relaxing at home being together. Her family and dogs were her ultimate passion and providing them with a loving wife and mother was at the cornerstone of her existence.
In addition to her husband, Jared Rutkoff, and their two children, Coleman and Cameryn, Sabrina is survived by not only her parents but her lifelong best friends, Tom and Cindy Chase, father Roger Bohac, her mother-in-law Glenell Rutkoff, her father-in-law David Rutkoff, her grandparents, 2 brothers, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, and cousins. Beyond family, Sabrina's loyalty, caring nature, infectious laugh, radiant smile, and optimistic spirit will be missed by her numerous friends, as well as the many students whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on February 24, 2018 at 3pm at Heritage High School. Doors open at 2:30.
