Sally Leiva Obituary
SALLY LEIVA finished up her work on this earth on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 1:50am in the quiet of the early morning. Her daughter Sylvia Salsa and her husband Juan Carlos were at her side. She was 99 years and seven months old at the time of her passing. Sally was born June 27, 1915 in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Iowa and Indiana. In 1932 she married her husband Sam Leiva in Gary, Indiana. She was married to Sam, the father of her three children, for 58 years. She is predeceased by her son Raymond, 1998 and daughter Mary Lou, 2011. In 1955 Sally and her family moved to California and opened Indiana Auto Wreckers on Magnolia Avenue in Corona. They operated the business until they retired. Sally was an astute business woman. She bought and sold property, worked in retail selling nutritional supplements and herbs and generously blessed many in need. Though Sally saw and did many things in her almost 100 years of living, Sally would tell you the most important event in all her lifetime was giving her heart to Jesus Christ and becoming a Seventh Day Adventist. In 1999 she married Juan Carlos Mondragon. He and his son Carlos were devoted and loving to Sally in all their years of marriage and especially caring for her in the last two months of her illness. Sally is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Salsa of Rancho Cucamonga; her husband, Juan Carlos Mondragon, his two sons, Carlos and Ceaser; and 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Services for Sally will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, February 28, at Corona Main Seventh Day Adventist Church, 114 E. 10th St., Corona. Visitation at the same location on Friday, February 27, 7pm to 9pm.
