Stephen Gyory Obituary
STEPHEN GYORY Age 92, passed away from congestive heart failure on April 21, 2013 at Cherry Valley Health Care, Banning, CA. He was born in Martonvasar, Hungary and had lived in Banning, CA for 37 years. He lived in various cities, states and countries (New Jersey, Germany, Venezuela, Hungary). He started his own company, Stephen Gyory, Mason Contractor, Inc. over 34 years ago, retiring in 1991. He started at an early age in Hungary and continued in South America, Germany and finally the United States. He constructed the memorial fountain for Dr. Nagy in front of San Gorgonio Hospital in Banning, CA and always helped friends and family when work was needed. He served in the Hungarian Army during WW2. He attended school in Martonvasar, Hungary and then went on to learn his craft of Masonery, He was very proud when he became an American citizen in 1967 and voted in every election since then. He belonged to the Hungarian-American Club in Bloomington, CA and attended the Hungarian Reform Church in Ontario, CA. He was a member of the CA Conference of Mason Contractor Association, Inc. and Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. Stephen is survived by his wife Frances Gyory of Banning, CA; daughters Hilda Figaszewski of Banning, CA and Maria Sinnard of Fort Myers, FL; son Michael Gyory of Goodyear, AZ; niece Rose Horvath of Budapest, Hungary and nephew Alex Horvath, of Simi Valley, CA; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11am, with a Memorial Service at 12noon, both at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, CA 92223.
