Steven Grobard Obituary
STEVEN GROBARD 8/12/44 to 9/29/14 Steve passed away on September 29, 2014, after a brief illness. He grew up in Bloomfield, Connecticut, and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1966. He moved to Michigan, then to Riverside, California in 1977 and to Carlsbad, California in 1996. His passion in life and greatest joy was his family; his wife of 19 years, Bobbie Grobard; three daughters, Sheri Cruz, Melanie Gerber, and Adriane Gordon; sister Sheila Barrow; niece, Alissa; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Devin, Daniel, Zachary, Adam, Andrew, and Benjamin, and two great-grandchildren. Throughout his life, Steve was an enthusiastic and proficient hobbyist. He built and ran HO trains, built and operated radio control boats, then airplanes, built intricate model boats, created several needlepoint pictures, mastered flying multiple stringed kites, and created magnificent freshwater and saltwater aquariums. As a young man, he enjoyed reading and sharing his collections of Mad magazines and comic books with his sister and cousins. He always loved the ocean, the beach, swimming, boating, as well as traveling. Steve's fabulous sense of humor and keen wit kept his family and friends smiling and laughing. He was a joy to spend time with and will be tremendously missed by all who loved him.
