SUSAN LaROSE
Age 59 of Redlands, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017 in Yucaipa after a ten-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born to John and Sumiko LaRose in June, 1958 in Japan.
Susan graduated from Moreno Valley High School in 1976 and attended the University of California Riverside and the University of Redlands. Susan was employed as a Library Clerk for the Riverside Public Library for ten years where she worked at the Central, Highgrove and Arlington branches. While working in Riverside, Susan was one of the last remaining residents of the original historic Mission Inn. Susan was a resident of Redlands and was employed as a Library staff member for the past 31 years at the University of Redlands Armacost Library.
Music, popular culture, movies, television and friends were Susan's passions. She loved listening to and sharing all genres of music, especially popular music of the 1960s and 1970s. Susan loved sharing her passion of music with friends and family and attended many music concerts with friends throughout her life including Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen. Susan enjoyed producing and sharing compilation CDs with friends and family during the holiday season. Her favorite memories were of her trips to Japan and New York, where she triumphed on the television show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and met her idol Regis Philbin. Susan was extremely intelligent, well read, and knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects. Susan was also a freelance calligrapher in her spare time.
Susan is survived by her parents MSGT USAF John LaRose and Sumiko LaRose of Moreno Valley, her brother and sister in law, John and Grace LaRose of Yucaipa, and close friends. Susan's brother William LaRose preceded her in death.
Susan, our beloved daughter, sister, friend, and coworker touched many lives. Susan will be sorely missed and we will hold dear our precious memories of her, in our hearts forever.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at Olivewood Memorial Park, Riverside, CA.
