Ted Price Obituary
TED PRICE
July 30, 1931 to November 16, 2017

Ted Price came into the world a star. He was born in New York City on July 30, 1931 with twinkling blue eyes and a kind, gentle heart. He was recruited to join the "Our Gang" comedies at age five and moved to Hollywood. A towhead, "Whitey" debuted in "Pigskin Palooka" with Alfalfa and Spanky before unemployment at age nine and returned to New York City. He was the son of Rodman Price and Eleanor Mahoney and the great-grandson of Gov. Rodman M. Price of New Jersey.
During Ted's teen years, his stepfather managed hotels in Key West and Cape Cod, and the family moved with the seasons while he worked as a lifeguard, water ski and tennis instructor. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1954, he served in the Air Force and later as a captain in the reserves. He moved to Riverside in 1958, married Marie McCarthy in 1960 and raised two children in Riverside. They divorced in 1973. In 1970, he began his nearly four-decade career selling land in Temecula, later moving there in 1975. Ted married Joan Vojkovich in 1978, who was born and raised on Catalina Island, and she remained his bride and best friend for 39 years until his passing on November 16, 2017 at the age of 86.
Ted believed that enthusiasm and persistence could conquer life's challenges. He loved rooms with a view, restaurants with booths, and as a gentleman he rarely judged or used foul language. He celebrated gadgets, revered his country, and in retirement his passion for motor homes was unrivaled. During 2005, Joan and Ted circumnavigated North America in their coach. The internet enabled Ted to play over a dozen games of chess simultaneously with players across the globe. He was a devoted father and grandfather with boundless love and pride for his family and bride.
Ted was preceded in death by his brother Rodman Price of Chicago, IL, and is survived by his wife Joan Price of Murrieta, CA; his daughter Marie Price (Rob) of Arlington, VA; his son Greg Price (Aimee) of Tiburon, CA; his six grandchildren Joe Crandall, James Crandall, Olivia Price, Emma Claire Price, Tommy Price, and Cricket Price and his sister Andrea Johnson of Port Neches, TX.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Winchester, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Assistance League - Temecula Valley in Ted's name where Joan remains an active volunteer. https://www.assistanceleague.org/temecula-valley/donate/
