Thaylia M. Moran Obituary
THAYLIA M. MORAN, 93, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2015 at an assisted living home in Hemet, California. She was born on January 15, l922, in the farming community of Sylvia, Kansas, the oldest of 3 girls and 1 brother. She is survived by her brother Carl Keesling of Lake Isabella, Ca., she was preceded in death by her husband Merlin Moran and older son La Verne Moran. She will be greatly missed by her married son Steven Moran, his wife Patricia, of Claremont, Ca.; her daughter Sandra Schroeder and her husband Bill of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca; 5 grandchildren:Melissa Dom (husband Rich) of Bullhead City, Nevada, Stacy Wilson (husband Chris) of Oceanside, Ca., Amy Wise (husband Matt) of Chandler, Az, Laura Wills, of Fredericksburg, Va., and Michael Moran of Claremont, Ca., and 9 great grandchildren: Kyle, Haley, Kolby, Ashley, Hayden, Alexis, Addison, Brady, and Luke and many nieces and nephews. Her cousin, 94, Margaret Cash, continues to live in Sun City, around the street from where Thaylia resided for more than 20 years by herself. She grew up on a farm in Reno, County Kansas with parents Ralph & Lola (Clothier) Keesling and siblings. In 1940 she graduated from Sylvia High School, Class of 29, who many remained friends throughout their lives. She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, known as one of the original "Rosie Rivetters" during WWll. She married Merlin Moran in 1941, and after the war moved to Pasadena, Ca., where she operated her own beauty shop for some 25 years, having lived in El Monte, Temple City, where she with family attended the Temple City Church of Christ faithfully for many years before retiring to Sun City after the passing of her husband and continuing her faith in Christ with the Sun City Church of Christ, she devoted her life to her family, friends and members of her church. Services are set for Dec. 28th, 10:00am at the Sun City Church of Christ, in Sun City and a graveside service at 2:00pm at Rose Hills in Whittier, Ca., also on the 28th.
