Theodore "Ted" King Jr. Obituary
THEODORE "TED" KING JR.
Was born August 13, 1944 to Alberta Mills King and Theodore King Sr. in Swansboro, GA. Ted was raised and grew up in Riverside with his sisters Annette and Alice and brothers Monroe and Willie. He attended Lowell Elementary School, Central Middle School, and graduated from Poly High School.
When Ted was 18, he met the love of his life, Lyndell "Linda" Lewis. They dated for four years and married November 6, 1966. They lived and raised their daughters in Riverside. He was married to his lover, best friend, and soul mate for 46 years.
As a youth, Ted wanted to work in law enforcement. He worked for the sheriff's department as a court bailiff for the Riverside Superior Court. In November 1999, Ted retired after 22 years of service. Before retiring, he started multiple businesses such as a Process Service and Janitorial Service. After he retired, he pursued his passion for home improvement with his childhood friend AC Palmer.
He enjoyed football and baseball, his favorite teams being the Raiders and Angels. He also enjoyed traveling, gambling, fishing with his father, and cooking for family and friends. But Ted's greatest joy was his love for his family.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife Linda King, father Theodore King Sr. and brothers Monroe and Willie King.
Ted leaves to cherish his memory: 4 Daughters
Angela Durham (Stephen), Kyra Sims (Art), Kary King, and Keli Shorter, 9 grandchildren: Lynee and Arthur Sims, Theo and Alyssia King, Daniel and Mariah Garcia, Jayden Walters, Noel, and Kali Shorter. He will be greatly missed by his mother (Alberta), step-mother (Hattie), sisters (Annette and Alice), step-brothers (George and Timothy), and a host of nieces, nephews, many relatives, lifetime friends, co-workers, and many others who will miss him dearly.
