THERESA MARIE HANYAK Age 82, passed away April 1, 2013 in La Habra after a long illness. She was born on August 18, 1930 in Southern California to the late Richard and Stefanie Wuerer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George W. Hanyak. While living in Huntington Beach she played the organ at Saint Simon and Jude Catholic Church for over 16 years. She frequently would hold choir practices at her home. She was a life time member of the Assistance League of Huntington Beach. She was involved as a volunteer in the Well Baby Clinic and the Thrift Store. She thoroughly enjoyed serving as the decoration chairman for their annual fashion show. When she and George retired they moved to Lake Elsinore. There she was very involved in activities at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church having volunteered in the parish office as well as serving as the treasurer of the Seniors Club. She worked many years at the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Lake Elsinore. In November, 1992, she became a member of the "Monday Team" at the Lake Elsinore soup kitchen known as the "Fishes and Loaves.". For more than 10 years, she planned and cooked main courses and desserts with her friends Sister Anne Fitzgerald and Eugenia Cooke. In 2006 she received the Guadalupe Award from the Diocese of San Bernardino for her many charitable contributions of her time, talent and treasure. She was a wonderful mother, a caring grandmother and a loving aunt and sister. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Margaret Robinson and her sons Joseph Hanyak, William Hanyak, Robert Hanyak and Steven Hanyak; her brother Josef Wuerer; and her grandchildren Keith Robinson, Camille Stephens, Alisha Hanyak, Evan Hanyak, Noelle Hanyak, Jessica Hanyak, Ryan Hanyak and Eric Hanyak. She was the proud great grandmother of Reese Ashley Robinson. Visitation and Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 9:30 am at Evans Brown Lake Elsinore Chapel, 126 E. Graham Ave. Lake Elsinore, CA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated also on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 21591 Lemon Street, Wildomar, CA. Committal Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Saint Frances of Rome Building Fund, 21591 Lemon Street, Wildomar, CA. 92595.
