Obituary Condolences

Age 72, passed away from heart failure on January 13, 2017 after a 6-week battle at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Deidra; his two daughters, Bryn and Erin, and his three grandchildren Andre, Lanea and Wrynn.
Tom was born in Chicago, IL but decided he was ready to see the world at 17 when he dropped out of high school to join the Marine Corps. After his service, he settled in California and worked as a newspaper reporter before receiving his GED in order to attend Harbor Community College, which led to a business degree from the University of Southern California. After college he started his career in HR, working with several companies until he turned his passion into a consulting career that continued through his retirement. He was heavily involved with several labor organizations and served as an Executive Director for both Professionals in Human Resourses Association and the Small Manufacturers Association of California.
After meeting Deidra in a San Pedro laundromat, the two of them lived in Wilmington, CA and Carpinteria, CA before settling in Riverside, CA in 1990. Tom took pride in his community and was heavily involved in several local groups including the Riverside Historical Society, the Mission Inn Foundation, the Norte Vista High School Cross Country Booster Club and the La Sierra Hills Neighborhood Watch.
The family is holding a memorial to celebrate his life in the Grand Ballroom of the La Sierra Senior Center on February 11, 2017 at 1pm.
