Timothy Paul Sweeney Obituary
TIMOTHY PAUL SWEENEY, well-known independent music consultant and mentor, formerly of Manhattan Beach, died in his sleep on November 13, 2014, at age 50, after a long battle with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis liver disease. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Christina; daughters Katlin and Eilish; and son Killian in Temecula, California. He is also survived by his parents, William and Ann, and his siblings Michele, Bill, Pat (Melinda), Mike, Annette (Dan), and several nieces and nephews. Tim graduated from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in 1987 with a B.A. in Communications. While at LMU, he was the AM Program Director for the campus radio station, KXLU, and was on the college golf team. After college, Sweeney founded an artist development company, Tim Sweeney & Associates (TSA), where he personally mentored thousands of business owners and leaders, a variety of artists around the world, professional athletes, and political and social organizers for over 20 years. Over the years, he was honored with multiple music industry accolades. Sweeney's best selling books and his Music Strategies convention were highly regarded for their innovation in the field of music promotion, distribution, and networking. Tim cherished his children and nurtured their artistic abilities. He loved to cook and was an excellent golfer who regularly shot par. He played in many celebrity tournaments that benefited his favorite charities. Tim had a great sense of humor and, in later years, did a stand-up comedy act to raise awareness for organ donation. During his frequent trips to the hospital, Tim focused on inspiring and encouraging his fellow patients. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 7 in Temecula at City Hall. To honor Tim's legacy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be accepted at the website donatelife.com or you can give the gift of life at organdonor.gov
