TING WONG (Wong Fong Ting Fung) was born in Taisan, a village in the province of Canton, China. The Lord brought her home on September 26, 2014 after a long life of 101 years. She was a resident of San Bernardino for over 74 years. Born in 1913, she was one of 6 siblings: 2 older sisters, 2 older brothers, and a younger sister. She married at the age of 17 to Bing Sum Wong and immigrated to America in 1940 coming through the Port of San Pedro. Along with her husband, she worked for 15 years at a restaurant they named the Cathay Inn. They built a new restaurant, Bing's Famous Cathay Inn, at 949 W. Highland Avenue, where she worked another 20 years, before it was sold. She was known for her kind and gentle manner, and loved by both patrons and restaurant staff. She was always supportive in other business & community endeavors in which her husband engaged, such as the Rotary Club-North, Bing Wong Scholarship Foundation, founding of a local bank (now Pacific Premier Bank), and other philanthropic activities. She supported the Wong's Association of Los Angeles, and the Gom-Benn Village Society. Ting was a devoted mother and wife, always wanting to serve and support others. She is survived by 3 children -Nancy Wong, Janice Lee, & Henry Wong; 9 grandchildren - Jennifer Schram, Bryan Lee, Alyssa Wong, Kristen Chuang, Emily Wong, Kaitlyn Wong, Brett Dresden, Trina Dresden, & Tania Davies; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter Josephine Wong, and great grandchild, Hunter Schram. Viewing will be on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 4-6 pm with services on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 noon at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, San Bernardino. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bing Wong Scholarship Foundation, sent to c/o Patricia Caskey CPA , 268 W.
