Obituary Condolences

VERDA M. COLLINSWORTH Verda passed away peacefully at home in Riverside on Wednesday, August 7 at age 92. She was born in Dietrich, Idaho on May 6, 1921 to Levi Joshua and Emma Meservy. Verda is survived by 4 daughters, Judy Kihm (Ray) of Redding, Suzanne Brewer (Ron), Lynette Diederichs (Tom), Kathy Metsch (Herb) of Riverside; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. Collinsworth; 3 brothers, Levi, Horace and Hyrum Meservy; 2 sisters, Alta Wittmayer and Annie Wessel. Services will be held at 11am on Aug. 16 at the LDS Riverside Stake Center, 4375 Jackson St. Interment to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA. Verda had many hobbies including writing poetry, sewing, painting, crafting, cooking, teaching and playing bridge, etc. She attended Cosmetology School and worked as a cosmetologist for many years. Her understanding of others was truly a gift. Many asked for advice knowing that she would respond empathetically without judgment or shock. She was loved by friends both young and old. Her feisty nature kept us on our toes. She was a life long member of the LDS church and served as relief Society President, Primary President and many other callings. She spent her life lovingly serving her family. She was never too busy to wipe away our tears, play a game of Yahtzee, make her Danish hot cakes or lend a listening ear. She was the glue that held our family together. She will be sorely missed by all. 'Til we meet again....Your Loving Family.
