1920 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
VIRGINIA "GINNY" MOORE Virginia, age 93, passed away on Oct. 30, 2013, peacefully, at her home. Virginia was born in Macomb, Illinois on May 6, 1920 to Nellie Loy and Luther James Whitmore. After graduating from Gem City Business College, in Quincy, she married her beloved husband of 57 years, Lawrence James Moore in March of 1943. "Larry" and Virginia moved back to Riverside in 1957, after he retired from the Air Force, and after living in Boise, ID, Colorado Springs, CO, Temple, TX, Albuquerque, NM. Known for her independent spirit, Ginny was an avid supporter of the DAR, and a member for over 70 years. She was a member of the Riverside Aurantia Chapter for 51 years. She held the positions of Treasurer, Secretary and New Member Registrar during those years. Through her experience in genealogy, she helped many members gain the necessary facts and background to be admitted to the DAR. In her spare time, Ginny also loved working crossword puzzles, starting with the Sunday New York Times. Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, and is survived by her two daughters, Linda Jean Moore, of Riverside, California and Laura Joan Moore, and her husband, Gregory Prokop, of Santa Rosa, California. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Arlington Mortuary, 9645 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA.
