1919 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
VIVIAN INEZ GORE Born April 29, 1919 passed peacefully in her home in Riverside, Ca. on December 7, 2013 while looking forward to being with JESUS. Nanny, you are missed AND forever will be! She is survived by her husband of 66 years, (USAF LT. COL. RET.), Herbert C. Gore; sister: Lucille Walker (Gary); sons: John (Charlotte), Robert & James; grandchildren Jason (Jessica), Kym, (Mark), & Seth; great grandchildren: Ashley, Hailey, Elly & Luke as well as the many extended family and friends. Nanny, as we called her, along with husband (Popeye) were always very involved with The Order of The Eastern Star as well as her being Deputy Grand Matron Chater 44 in 1989 (Chowchilla, Ca.). Nanny was also a military wife. Her husband in WWII, Korea & Vietnam with 2 sons in Vietnam at the same time earned her The VMA (Veterans Mothers Award) which was presented to her in 1992 by the 173rd ABN Brigade Association Chapter 10 US Army. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Cox; father, Lloyd Hamm; brother, Alden, and daughters-in-law Annie and Ellen and grandson John Jr. Special thanks & much love to Katherine (Kat) Legault, mom's primary caretaker for the last 3 years. You are and will always be family! Our Sincere thanks to Chapman Hospice, Affinity, & ResCare, Aides, Attendants & Nurses, for the special care along with a special Thank You to Doni Daudel mom's favorite Pastor, Pam Davis & The Order of Eastern Star. 10am Viewing to be held at Arlington Mortuary, 9645 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, Ca., 11am Funeral Service by Eastern Star, and 1pm Graveside service to be performed by Doni Daudel at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Ave, Riverside, Ca. at 2pm. Reception to follow @ Officer Mc Cullen Masonic Center, 6785 Palm Ave., Riversisde, Ca.
