Obituary Condolences

WALLACE GREGORY MCARTHUR April 11, 1927 - June 7, 2013 Our beloved husband, father, & grandfather passed away June 7, 2013. He was born and lived in Riverside, CA where he lived for 76 years before he and his wife LylaLee relocated to Roseburg 10 years ago to be close to family. He was born April 11, 1927, the third son of five boys born to Walter E. and Della M. McArthur, who preceded him in death along with his two older brothers, Walter, Jr. and George. He was a flooring artisan and eventually he owned Mac's Linoleum and Shades in Riverside, CA for 27 years. Though he was a man of few words he made up for that with sharing his love of music and played the saxophone for 75 years. He was a hardworking man with a strong work ethic. His actions spoke louder than words as he demonstrated his love in "doing" for others, quietly helping with any project that needed doing for family and friends, with a heart of humility. Wally leaves behind his wife, LylaLee; daughter Gail Lynn Griffin and husband, M. Dwight Griffin of Roseburg, OR; sons Donald Scott McArthur and wife Suzanne of Mason, MI; and Ted Alan McArthur of Paradise, UT. He leaves 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. In addition, he leaves his Swiss foreign exchange family Philip Haas and wife Marta, and 3 Swiss grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Dr. Keith Krell of Spokane, WA grandson-in-law; will be officiating the Graveside services at Oak Creek Cemetery, 10 miles East of Roseburg, Thurs., June 13th at 10:30 am.
