Obituary Condolences

WANDA ETHELYN ROBERSON WOLF Was born March 27, 1923 to Clifford and Eula Watson Roberson. She went home to be with her blessed Lord and Savior the morning of Monday, January 21, 2008. Wanda liked to point out she was a true Californian, having been born in a ranch house in an orange grove near Placentia, California. The family, now augmented by little sister Juanita, moved to Fullerton, California in June 1930. Here Wanda graduated form Fullerton Union High School in 1941. She matriculated to Whittier College, graduating with a teaching degree in elementary education in 1945. Wanda spent two and a half years teaching at Los Nietos Elementary School while she was working toward her secondary credential. She taught English and Social Studies at Victor Valley Union High School in Victorville for two years before coming to Riverside in the fall of 1949 "to teach for just one year" at the old Poly High School on Tequesquite. And then, as she always put it, she "met a man." She married Erich Laszlo Wolf, who had been a student in her Riverside City College English for the Foreign Born class, on October 12, 1952. They had three children, Anne, Lynne and Rick (Erick). Teaching was always her passion. She re-entered the profession at Ramona High School in January 1962, retiring in June, 1989. During those years she was active in the RCTA (local teachers' union), in two professional organizations (Phi Delta Kappa and Delta Kappa Gamma) and in the Inland Area Writers Project. A writers' group has met at her home once a month for the past twenty-seven years. Although she loved teaching, Wanda's first love was serving her God and immediately after that, seeing to the needs of her family - her own three and also her stepson Bob (Robert). Survivors include Anne Wolf of Morrison, Colorado and her son, Bryan Wolf of Portland, Oregon; Lynne Wolf Sher and her husband Stephen (Sher) of Riverside; Rick Wolf, his wife Ronaele and their children, Ryan and Riley of Moreno Valley; step-son, Bob Wolf, his wife Helga and their children, Shawna Wolf Jimenez and Kevin Wolf of Riverside; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Juanita Roberson Bryant, her husband Russell (Bryant) and their two children and grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 27th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer. Funeral Services will be at the First Baptist Church of Riverside, 5500 Alessandro Blvd. at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 28th. Graveside Services immediately following at Olivewood Cemetery. There will be a reception following the services at the First Baptist Church of Riverside. In lieu of flowers, Wanda had requested donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Riverside or the Salvation Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Acheson & Graham Garden Of Prayer Mortuary (951) 688-1221
