1935 - 2017 Obituary Condolences

Warren Chapin Vermillion, affectionately known as "Doug," passed away on June 20, 2017 at 10:15 p.m. He was born July 29, 1935 to parents Varney and Ruth Vermillion. Doug left his wife, Jackie, of 61 years; his three children, Dale (Jess), Sandra and Michael (Cindy); six grandchildren, Sydney, Shane, Paul, Patrick, Sarah and Maxwell; one great granddaughter, Nixxie, and his brother, Wayne. He also leaves behind many relatives and friends who will miss him greatly!
Doug never knew a stranger. He was a man of many talents, a very hard worker. He worked as a Teamster before and after the Army. After retiring as a fire captain for L.A. County he started his own Pilot Car Services business.
Doug was an avid collector of antiques and antique machinery. His knowledge was vast, he could break down and restore anything, but his main love was restoring the old hit and miss engines that ran farm equipment.
His family and friends will celebrate his life at a later date. Doug wished to have his passing marked by no ceremony. He will be missed by all who knew him.
