Wayne I. Hamby Obituary
WAYNE I. HAMBY, 82, passed away peacefully at home July 12, 2015. He was born in Washington, D.C. and was a long time resident of Hemet, CA. Wayne served in the United States Navy and fought in the Korean War. For over 15 years, Wayne tirelessly volunteered for the Riverside County Sheriff's Posse Department. His love of horses and kind heart drove him to the Ramona Pageant. There he volunteered for 25 years playing the part of a cowboy known as Yank Carter. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Valerie and stepson Michael. He was also preceded in death by his second love, Elaine. Wayne is survived by a son Paul; stepson Patrick; granddaughters Jennifer and Madison and a great grandson Jakob. Although we all knew Wayne's ornery side, his smile was contagious. Services will be on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at the Ramona Bowl, Hemet, 12:30pm, 27400 Ramona Bowl Road, Hemet, Ca 92544. BBQ to follow.
