Wayne Montgomery Obituary
WAYNE MONTGOMERY, 81, resident of Moreno Valley, CA, died peacefully on Feb. 27, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held March 3rd at 11am at the Christ Community Church on Sunnymead Blvd. in Moreno Valley, California. Wayne was born October 30, 1932, in Erick, Oklahoma, to Sam and Bessie Montgomery and lived there until he was 15 years of age when he and his cousin, Wesley came to California. Wayne and Carole were married April 6, 1957 at First Christian Church, in Vallejo California. Wayne served in the Activity Duty United States Air Force, during the Korean conflict as an Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent. He then continued his Air Force career in the Civil Service and as a reservist at March Air Force Base, CA. for another 38 years, achieving the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. In 1957, Wayne and Carole started a loving family with their first child (Curtis), then in 1960 (Mark) and (David) 1961, all who still remain close to Wayne and Carole. Wayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Elks Lodge, both of Moreno Valley. He was also a member and past President of the California Pacers RV group. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole; his three sons and their spouses, Curtis and Cheryl, Mark and Donna, David and Elaine; eight grandchildren Brian, Erin, Jessica, Mark Jr., Alicia, Alexis, Michael and Karla; great grandchild Eli Robert; niece Dana Tousseau and brother Joe of Amarillo Texas. Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Jim of Sayre, Oklahoma and many other family members. He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace beloved husband, father and friend.
